InMotion Hosting Expands Longstanding Monarx Partnership with Fleetwide ThreatShield Deployment

InMotion Hosting extends its use of Monarx security technology, deploying ThreatShield across its server fleet for runtime protection against modern web threats.
Monarx and InMotion Hosting are expanding a partnership that dates back to 2021, with InMotion Hosting now deploying Monarx ThreatShield across its server fleet.
The expanded deployment brings ThreatShield's runtime application protection directly into InMotion Hosting's infrastructure, adding another layer of protection against emerging vulnerabilities and attacks.
Unlike traditional security tools that inspect traffic only before it reaches an application, ThreatShield operates inside the application runtime. This gives it visibility into how requests actually behave during execution and allows malicious activity to be identified and stopped with full application context.
ThreatShield is designed to detect and block attack vectors including cross-site scripting, SQL injection, remote code execution, credential stuffing, bots, brute-force attacks, and other forms of malicious application activity.
Building on a Proven Partnership
InMotion Hosting has worked with Monarx since 2021, initially using Monarx technology to strengthen malware detection and protection across its hosting environment. InMotion Hosting previously reported a 40% reduction in security-related customer support cases during the first year of the partnership.
The companies expanded their relationship further over the following years, bringing Monarx malware detection and active protection to additional InMotion Hosting services. InMotion has highlighted Monarx's accuracy, low resource use, and ability to reduce manual intervention when responding to malware and abuse.
The fleetwide ThreatShield deployment represents the next stage of that relationship, expanding the focus from identifying and remediating malware to stopping malicious application behavior as attacks happen.
“InMotion Hosting has been a fantastic partner to Monarx for years, and this deployment is a natural next step in what we have built together. Threats are changing quickly, particularly as attackers become better at bypassing traditional signature and perimeter-based defenses. Deploying ThreatShield across the InMotion fleet gives their infrastructure another layer of protection directly at the point where application code executes.”
— Luke Langford, CEO of Monarx
“We were excited to be a part of Monarx's early development, and they have had an extremely large impact on how we manage security across our platforms. Deploying ThreatShield across our fleet is another step toward making advanced protection an integral part of the infrastructure our customers rely on every day.”
— Trey Faison, Director of Products, InMotion Hosting
Protection at the Application Runtime
ThreatShield runs within the application runtime, allowing it to evaluate requests based on what they attempt to do rather than relying solely on known signatures or traffic patterns.
Malicious requests can be terminated during execution, helping protect applications against both known attack techniques and new vulnerabilities where traditional rules may not yet exist. ThreatShield is optimized for Linux PHP environments and uses intelligence from across the Monarx platform to inform its detection decisions.
For hosting providers operating large numbers of websites and servers, this approach provides an additional security layer that can be deployed across infrastructure without requiring individual website owners to configure application-level security themselves.
The expansion reflects a shared goal between InMotion Hosting and Monarx: making proactive security part of the hosting platform itself rather than something customers need to think about only after an attack occurs.
The fleetwide deployment was announced by InMotion Hosting on August 24, 2026.
